NATPOWER × WAH KWONG

Powering Asia’s Maritime Energy Transition

Combining global energy infrastructure expertise with deep maritime knowledge to unlock faster, smarter electrification for Asia’s shipping routes.

About WK NatPower A strategic joint venture.

WK NatPower combines Wah Kwong’s deep maritime heritage with NatPower’s expertise in renewable energy and infrastructure to develop, finance, and operate a comprehensive maritime electrification network across Asia. The company is focused on delivering shore power, electric vessel charging, battery-swapping infrastructure, and integrated energy solutions that provide clean electricity for vessels both at berth and for propulsion, supporting the transition to a lower-emission maritime industry.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, a leading global maritime and financial centre, WK NatPower is strategically positioned to support maritime decarbonisation across Asia. Leveraging Hong Kong’s role as a gateway to the Greater Bay Area, the joint venture is developing the energy infrastructure needed to enable the next generation of clean shipping. Through integrated solutions including shore power, vessel charging, and energy systems, WK NatPower is helping ports, shipping operators, and governments accelerate the transition to scalable, commercially viable maritime electrification.

STRATEGIC LOCATION

Hong Kong: Our Strategic Base

As a leading global maritime and financial hub, and home to Wah Kwong and its Venture Energy division, Hong Kong provides the ideal base to accelerate maritime electrification across Asia, connecting shipping, investment, and energy infrastructure to advance the transition to cleaner maritime transport.

Built for Delivery

Established energy ecosystem accelerating the transition to cleaner, lower-emission shipping.

Combined Expertise

Bringing together world-class maritime operations, energy infrastructure, and investment capabilities.

Scalable Delivery

Building the infrastructure, partnerships, and energy systems needed to enable maritime electrification at scale.

Why We Created the
Joint Venture

The NatPower–Wah Kwong joint venture was created to accelerate maritime decarbonisation in Asia by removing the biggest barrier to change: the lack of scalable, reliable clean energy infrastructure at ports.

By combining NatPower Marine’s expertise in developing and financing large-scale electrification and energy infrastructure with Wah Kwong’s deep shipping, operational, and regional market knowledge, the JV enables faster deployment of shore power, electric propulsion charging, and future-ready energy solutions.

Together, we are building the infrastructure shipping needs to transition with confidence starting in Hong Kong and scaling across Asia’s busiest trade routes.

What We Deliver

Shore Power & Cold Ironing

Grid-connected shore power systems that allow vessels to switch off engines at berth, cutting emissions, noise, and air pollution in ports and coastal communities.

Future-Ready Clean Energy

Integrated energy systems that combine electrification, battery storage, and future alternative fuel capabilities, helping ports build resilient infrastructure for the next generation of clean shipping.

Electric Propulsion Charging

Infrastructure to support hybrid and fully electric vessels, particularly for ferries, shortsea shipping, and near-shore operations.

Integrated Energy Solutions

We invest, build, and operate the infrastructure — removing capital and operational risk for ports and shipowners while ensuring reliable access to clean energy.

End-to-End Electric Vessel Infrastructure

We deliver and operate integrated electric ferry and charging systems, enabling operators to transition to electric fleets without upfront infrastructure burden.

Building Green Shipping
Corridors Across Asia

The joint venture is focused on developing high-impact maritime routes where electrification can deliver immediate emissions reductions, starting with short-sea, ferry, and high-frequency port operations.

By connecting ports through a coordinated network of clean energy infrastructure, we enable:

Route-by-route
decarbonisation

Lower operational costs
over time

Compliance with evolving
regional and global regulations

Improved air quality for port
cities and coastal communities
